Tips on Making Haft Mewa
High-Quality Ingredients: Use high-quality nuts and dried fruits for the best flavor and texture in this recipe. Look for fresh fruits and nuts that don’t show any signs of staleness.
Soak the Nuts: We do not recommend using any of the nuts with their skins on so soak them ahead of time, and take the time to peel each nut. It’ll be so worth it! Or you can purchase pre-peeled nuts from Ariana Sweets at your local International retailer.
Balance the Flavors: Achieve a harmonious balance of flavors by combining a variety of nuts and dried fruits. Each ingredient contributes its unique sweetness and texture to the dish, creating a delightful medley of flavors.
Don’t Overdo the Rose Water: Rose Water will give you that subtle floral aroma in your Haft Mewa but use it sparingly. It can quickly overpower other flavors if you use too much. Start small and adjust accordingly but keep in mind that we provide you a good base for how much you should use.
Let the Flavors Meld Together: Refrigerate the mixture for at least 24 hours. We do it for about 3 days. This allows the flavors to meld together and the resting period is where the nuts and fruits absorb the rose water and give it that perfect flavor profile.
